Education & Literacy
Education is a right for every child. However, refugee and marginalized children are falling behind in literacy and main subjects. We serve Grades 1 to 9 to bring kids up to speed and with regular exams.
Psycho-Social Support (PSS)
PSS and Child Protection are core to our mission – we offer trainings for our youth team and specialized mental health sessions through fun activities such as arts, chess, cinema, dance (dabke!) and more – to engage children in critical thinking and collaboration.
Positive Parenting
Through our household surveys, Azahir discovered that parents place high value on learning methods. These methods support their children living in high-risk and unstable environments. We offer workshops on child development and simple strategies parents can use at home.
Sports for Life-Skills & Coping
Young people living in refugee camps and marginalized communities face numerous challenges. They have limited positive coping strategies to deal with stress and pressures from their environment. We offer awareness sessions, community-building sports games, and more to help them build skills for their futures.
We believe every child has the right to play and be safe. Children can best learn and grow in a healthy & safe environment surrounded by a supportive community and positive mentors. We also believe in the potential of young people in marginalized and displaced communities. They have the ability to be agents of change. They can become role models and peace leaders.
Azahir has created a program cycle from these two beliefs. In this program, our Local Youth Teams serve as Educators and PSS Coaches for children and parents. This garners greater community resilience in North Lebanon. It includes Nahr el Bared Palestinian Refugee Camp and Tel Mayaan village in Akkar.

Where is Azahir registered?
Azahir is registered in Lebanon (Reg. Number 63) and in the USA as a 501(c)(3). We accept tax-deductible donations from US-citizens.
In 2026, we are registering in Spain & the EU.
What methods do you use?
Our Teams are trained in the national and international education systems. They have received multiple professional trainings in Child Protection and Psycho-Social Support. Our training includes the acclaimed method of sports and football for Life Skills Development.
We have partnered with a wide range of organizations. These include both international and local entities such as KinderUSA, KNVB Royal Dutch Football Association, and War Child Holland. Other partners are UNICEF, Swiss Barakah, and PACES Charity. We also work with Basmeh & Zeintooneh, Norwegian Football Federation, and Dawaer NGO. There are many more partners we collaborate with!
How can I help?
We are in need of donations to respond to the urgent crisis. This crisis is facing Palestinian children and their families. It also affects Lebanese living below the poverty line (<$4/day).
We invite all our friends and supporters to help spread awareness. Children and youth in our communities face significant hardships. Azahir‘s solution is impactful. It offers healing, growth, opportunities, and education. The solution empowers young people and gives children a hopeful future.
