Azahir Emergency Relief for Lebanon

Azahir Emergency Relief for Lebanon

THE SITUATION ON THE GROUND:
Over 1 million people are now displaced in a country of 4.5 million

Since 2nd March 2026 – an escalated bombing campaign attacked hundreds of Lebanese villages in the South and residential homes & neighborhoods in the country’s capital – Beirut. With mass evacuation orders – families have fled in an instant leaving everything behind in ruin and rubble.

Hundreds of thousands of families and children are arriving to the North where Azahir is based – with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

They are sleeping on streets. In the cold. With children. With nowhere to go.

Azahir Centers are opening our doors.

We are a grassroots organization based in north Lebanon & a registered 501(c)(3) charity. We were founded in 2018. We have been on the frontlines of every emergency. This has been particularly true since the escalation of aggressions in October 2023.

Azahir responds immediately & sustainably to support our communities.

In 2024, when mass displacement hit Lebanon, Azahir was there:

Distributing mattresses & blankets to families sleeping on concrete floors

Providing hot meals

Delivering baby formula, diapers, and hygiene kits to mothers & infants

Setting up safe spaces for children

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an early humanitarian intervention that Azahir implements. It aims to enhance psychological and social resilience among children and their families – helping them to regain their ability to cope with daily challenges resulting from crises, displacement, distressing events, and war.

Coordinating medical care for the wounded and chronically ill

Supporting Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian families equally—because crisis does not discriminate, and neither do we.

Azahir believes in the long-term impact of everything we do.

Which is why our mission focuses on the development of the child & community at its core. Each intervention aims at stability. They also promote social well-being and growth.

Azahir believes in the long-term impact of everything we do.

As we speak, Azahir registering displaced families in the northe very hour.

Echoing the memories of September/October 2024—when we were among the first responders—we are once again scrambling to meet immediate needs:

🛏️ Mattresses – Families are sleeping on floors

🍞 Food – Shelters need meals, now

👶 Baby formula & diapers – Infants cannot wait

🧼 Hygiene products – Dignity in displacement

🏥 Medical attention – The wounded are arriving

🧸 Child safe spaces – Trauma care for the youngest survivors

We reach the people in the hardest-to-reach areas. Because our teams are from the communities we serve.

These are areas that are historically marginalized and disconnected from basic services. They have limited access to education and decent employment.

Azahir is community-led. We are uncompromising in our commitment to serve the most vulnerable children. We strive to empower youth to be leaders in their camps & communities. Children are always the ones most affected by war, displacement, chronic poverty and instability.

Our teachers, coaches and specialists are trained experts in Child Protection & Psycho-Social Support (PSS).

They respond where we are needed most – and where few others go.

Be a part of the mission – be a child’s lifeline today.
