AZAHIR ONG

We work across Akkar, Lebanon’s most impoverished region. We are based in Nahr el Bared Palestinian Refugee Camp. Our center runs programs five days a week, every week of the year.

Our mission is to ensure every child has the right to a safe, nurturing environment. We promote stability and peace in underserved communities and high-risk areas. We emphasize education, psycho-social support, and youth leadership, training young people to be educators and role models.

Our vision is a cohesive society where empowered youth lead communities towards resilience and peace. We operate efficiently. We direct resources to ground-level activities. These activities are run and managed by our local youth teams. They offer dignified and meaningful opportunities.

Guiding Principles: 🔸Child Protection 🔸Human Rights 🔸Women Empowerment 🔸Education for All 🔸Tolerance & Coexistence.

Our Four Pillars:

  • Child Education and Psycho-social Support (PSS) with art, music, and sports programs.
  • Youth Empowerment through skills-training and community leadership.
  • Safe Spaces & Child Protection in our community centers.
  • Social Cohesion through Sport, using football for peace-building.

“I believe that children are a source of inspiration. The writer who is a mother sees in her children the history of humanity.”
-Emily Nasrallah, Lebanese Writer and Activist
